Many new homes are under construction along with infrastructural developments that show there is only more room for growth in this section of town. The population in Midtown is predicted to increase by about 9%, which brings it to a total of 43,530 people who live here now, making it one of the most populated areas in all of Charlotte, NC.

The history of midtown is a little different than most other areas in Charlotte. It was not until the early 20th century that it began to develop into an important commercial center for Charlotte. This area has changed a lot over the years, but some older buildings are still found all along Tryon Street, which used to be known as ‘main street’ back in the day. With its close proximity to Uptown, this section of town experienced rapid growth during the ’90s and continues to grow today due to new infrastructural developments taking place throughout Midtown.

Midtown has a great variety of restaurants that offer anything from burgers to steak and sandwiches to fine dining for those special occasions. There are also a lot of bars and pubs scattered throughout this part of Charlotte, NC. The entertainment is one of the most popular parts of this district with its many theatres such as Blumenthal Performing Arts Center as well as locally owned establishments such as Cinebarre, StrikeCity, and NODA Theater, all hosting premier events several times per month. Finally, there are many housing styles available in Midtown, including small single-family homes, large luxury condos, and plenty more.

Infrastructure developments include renovations at BB&T Ballpark uptown, construction of light rail through North Davidson Street, development around Old Concord Road, etc. Midtown has become so popular because of its proximity to Uptown and NoDa. It is very common for people working in Uptown to visit Midtown for dinner or shopping during the day. Midtown has become famous due to its restaurants and bars, many of which are located right along North Davidson Street. This area is also home to some of the best art galleries in town, which showcase talented artists worldwide. It is also famous for its annual art festival in the Spring and its new infrastructural developments throughout this area. For a fun and exciting nightlife, try South End.
