Peachtree Center

Peachtree Center History
Peachtree Battle is a historic neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia’s Buckhead district. The name “Battle” gets derived from one of Buckhead’s earliest crossroads, where it meets Peachtree Road. It got named after the intersection of two Native American trails, the Peachtree and Bell’s Mill roads. Later, as a major street (Peachtree Street) connected north to Marthasville and points north, and another road connected southwest to Decatur and south to the city of Jonesboro, the area became an important crossroads in the town of Atlanta.
