NoDa
The name “NoDa” stands for “North Davidson”, and it’s a very popular neighborhood in Charlotte, NC. It is one of the most rapidly developing areas and has been since 2007 when investor activity started increasing by leaps and bounds here. Many condos and houses were built in this neighborhood, but the biggest boom happened in 2012 when many nightclubs moved into NoDa, making it one of the most vibrant places to go out at night (and during the day).
This area has not always been called NoDa. When established in 1884, it was simply called Davidson after the family who owned all this land until they sold it in 1914 to JT Wilkins, who later developed it further and named it North Davidson Street. This was when NoDa was born, and it quickly became a very popular area for textile-related business. The arts came in the 1970s, which means that the neighborhood still has many great buildings with exposed brick and high ceilings, making it even more attractive to artists looking for space to create new art pieces (or simply live).
NoDa has a fairly diverse population, but it remains one of the most popular areas in Charlotte, NC, because of its young vibe and chills out atmosphere. It’s also fairly safe because there aren’t many residential properties here, which eases some people’s minds about safety (because they don’t want strangers wandering around their homes while they’re out). You enjoy living here, especially if you’re looking for that hipster vibe because NoDa is where it’s at.
NoDa is famous for its nightlife which is why many people move here. Of course, not everyone enjoys going out at night, but if you do, there are over 20 bars and clubs to choose from! There are also great restaurants that focus on good drinks and live music, so it’s a place where you can have fun without any problems.
